Meet Your Host

From Global Design to Hometown Hospitality

I’m Denny Dellinger — an architect by training, a preservationist at heart, and now the proud innkeeper of Moon River Bed & Breakfast. After years of living and working in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, I relocated to Maysville to take on what began as a real estate venture and quickly became a passion project: creating a welcoming, story-rich destination for travelers in one of Kentucky’s most charming river towns.

My career has taken me from hospitality design projects in Abu Dhabi and Dubai to immersive research trips across Mexico and Central America, where I studied the art of guest experience and the cultural power of place. That global perspective now informs everything I do at Moon River—from thoughtful design touches to the way I connect guests with the best of Maysville.

I’ve long been drawn to historic architecture, especially the adaptive reuse of buildings that honor their original character while serving new purposes. Moon River is a perfect expression of that philosophy: a lovingly preserved 1888 row house reimagined as a modern-day inn.

Today, I’m building partnerships with local businesses, artists, and fellow hosts to help grow Maysville’s tourism economy and create memorable experiences for every guest. My hope is that visitors return again and again—not just for the comfort of Moon River, but for the warmth of the community it reflects.

And yes, I do aspire to become Maysville’s “celebrity” bed and breakfast host—one great stay at a time.

About Moon River Bed & Breakfast

A Historic Gem in the Heart of Maysville

Nestled at 320 & 322 Market Street in the charming Cox Row Houses, Moon River Bed & Breakfast occupies the "Friday and Saturday houses" —two of seven beautifully preserved row homes built in 1888. These iconic residences, each named for a day of the week starting with Sunday, form a cornerstone of Maysville’s Downtown Historic District.

Originally transformed into a bed and breakfast by Marti and Mike Insko in the early 2000s, Moon River has long been a welcoming haven for travelers seeking comfort, character, and connection. When the Inskos retired, I had the privilege of continuing their legacy of hospitality—honoring the traditions they built while adding new layers of community engagement and guest experience.

Today, Moon River offers more than just a place to stay. I’m actively partnering with local businesses, event organizers, and fellow hosts to create special reservation packages tied to Maysville’s vibrant cultural calendar. From weekend festivals to weekday retreats, our goal is to help guests experience the best of Maysville and Mason County—while supporting the growth of our local tourism economy.
